Kristin Moeser – Racing Host

I guess you could say drag racing was bred into me. No one really noticed, not the tom-boyish behavior, the aversion to dresses, the love of sports (mainly drag racing), trying to fix my own cars, and even when I would go to local tracks with friends to watch the Friday night grudge races. Notice was finally taken when I defied my father and convinced my mother to co-sign my 20th birthday present to myself: a brand new 2002 Z-28 Camaro, the last production year (until now). I nearly went broke between the payments, insurance, speeding tickets, college full-time and waitressing nights.

Fast-forwards three years: Having finally made enough money to treat my older brother and I, my father gave me my best birthday present ever: tow days at the distinguished Frank Hawleys Drag Racing School to get my Super Comp license. I turned 23 that yearned my life suddenly made sense, finally! Frank Hawley and Jack Beckman saw something in me too, they recommeneded to my father to buy a dragster and get me out there. He thankfully listened and bought a Super Comp dragster just a few months later. I raced the end of 2006, going to the third found at my first debut!! The next year my driving career was put aside as my husband and I were pregnant with our first child. Instead of a driver, my new lesson became that of crew chief for my father, which I eagerly did until my seventh month of pregnancy. Then, just eight weeks after having my daughter, I was back at the track driving for my first full season. 2008 had its ups and downs, but I finished in the top 15%!! But already I am ready to take that next step from 170 to 265mph. I will be getting licensed this June by Daniel Mercier (www.dmracingteam.com) while continuing my never-ending pursuit of sponsorship.
